Teresa Eyring and Barclay Goldmsith

This past Tuesday (4/6), Barclay Goldsmith, Founding Artistic Director from Borderlands Theater stopped by for a visit with Teresa Eyring and TCG staffers. We always enjoy meeting our members and thought you might enjoy getting to know Borderlands Theater as well. So here’s the scoop.

Borderlands was founded in 1986 focusing on US Latino playwrights and is about to celebrate their 25th year, next season. They remain dedicated to addressing issues of bilingualism through theatre work by forging collaborative approaches to programming and operations, supporting emerging playwrights, and education/outreach.

Barclay briefly discussed his on-going exploration into the institutionalization of cultures through his travels to Mexico and their first cross border production, a new play to open in July in Mexico City then in Prop Theatre in Chicago.

(Borderlands received funding from TCG’s Future Leaders: International Fellowships program (2005) and Future Collaborations (2008) for bi-national exchanges with Mexican actors and playwrights to further the Borderlands US/Mexico program.) Find out more at http://www.borderlandstheater.org/

Thanks to Barclay Goldsmith of Borderlands Theater for sharing with us! We love meeting our members.
